Belarus to borrow from China for highway renovation, airport modernization
China will provide loans to Belarus for the renovation of major highways and the Minsk National Airport and the import of electric locomotives from the Asian country.
Agreements to this effect were signed during last week's visit of a delegation of Chinese government officials and business executives to Belarus, the Belarusian transport ministry's press office told BelaPAN. In particular, China Precision Machinery Import-Export Corporation contracted to help modernize the Belarusian capital's major airport in a project that would see a state-of-the-art passenger terminal and a new runway built by 2014.
