Grain harvest said to have been gathered from nearly 96 percent of sown area
Grain and leguminous crops had been harvested from 2,225,500 hectares, or 95.5 percent of the total sown area, as of Monday morning, according to the agriculture ministry, as quoted by BelaPAN.
Grain and leguminous crops had been harvested from 99.8 percent of the sown area in the Homyel region, 98.8 percent in the Mahilyow region, 96.5 percent in the Brest region, 93.8 percent in the Minsk region, 93.4 percent in the Hrodna region and 93.2 percent in the Vitsyebsk region.
As much as 6,900,000 tons of grain had been gathered by farms in Belarus as of Monday morning, with the average per-hectare yield being 3,000 kilograms.
As much as 905,900 tons of grain, or 91.5 percent of the target, had been supplied in the framework of the government’s procurement program. In addition, farms had supplied 118,700 tons of malt barley and 278,600 tons of rape, or 79.2 and 52.6 percent of the targets, respectively.
