Russian criminalists leave for Minsk to help investigate subway bombing

 

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has sent a group of experienced investigators and criminalists to Minsk to help investigate the April 11 subway bomb attack in the Belarusian capital city.

Andrey Shved, Belarus’ deputy prosecutor general who heads the investigative team in charge of the case, told reporters on Tuesday morning that the Russians were to arrive on April 13.

The Israeli embassy in Minsk announced on Tuesday that a group of Israeli criminalists and doctors would arrive in the Belarusian capital later in the day.

Two experts of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), including the chief of the FSB’s special crime laboratory, started to work at the scene of the bomb attack on Tuesday morning.

According to authorities, 12 people were killed in the attack. As many as 204 people sought medical assistance after the blast and 157 of them were hospitalized, including 22 in critical condition. //BelaPAN
