Belavia's first direct flight to Helsinki

Belavia’s Boeing-737 took off for the Belarusian national airline’s first direct flight to Helsinki from Minsk National Airport on Thursday morning.

In one hour and 20 minutes, the plane with representatives of Belavia and the transport ministry’s aviation department on board landed at Helsinki Airport in Finland.

Belavia will operate CRJ 100/200 planes capable of carrying up to 50 passengers on its regular flights to Helsinki that will be performed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays.

Belavia Deputy Director Ihar Charhinets told reporters before the flight that if the route proved popular, the company would increase the frequency of flights to Helsinki or use higher capacity planes.

Following the launch of the service, the number of cities in the Eurasian region where the national airline will fly in the summer has increased to 37. //BelaPAN
