China to provide $1-billion tied low-interest loan to Belarus
The Chinese government has decided to provide a $1-billion low-interest loan to Belarus for carrying out joint projects, Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, said while meeting with the leadership of the National Assembly of Belarus in Minsk on September 17.
According to the Belarusian government’s news agency BelTA, Mr. Wu also said that China would give a grant of 70 million yuan ($11 million).
A memorandum on inter-parliamentary cooperation was signed as a result of the meeting, said BelTA.
The Chinese parliamentary delegation’s official visit to Belarus is to last until September 20. //BelaPAN
