Belarusian, Iraqi diplomats discuss resumption of high-level dialogue
The possible resumption of high-level dialogue between Belarus and Iraq was discussed at a meeting between Ihar Lyashchenya, head of the Belarusian foreign ministry's Department for Asia and Africa, and Iraqi Ambassador Haidar Hadi in Minsk on October 23.
Messrs. Lyashchenya and Hadi exchanged opinions on the implementation of decisions made by the Belarusian-Iraqi Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation at its meeting in Minsk in June 2012, according to the Belarusian foreign ministry's press office.
Under discussion also were economic relations between the two countries and the situation in the Middle East and North Africa.
In addition, the diplomats spoke about ways of implementing agreements reached by the Belarusian and Iraqi foreign ministers at a meeting held in the framework of the 67th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. //BelaPAN
