Listapad film festival kicks off in Minsk
The 19th edition of an annual international film festival, Listapad, opened at the Palace of the Republic in Minsk on November 2.
Deputy Prime Minister Anatol Tozik began the opening ceremony with reading out a message of greetings by Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
Speaking on behalf of the organizers, Mr. Tozik said that the festival would feature a record 350 films.
Prominent Russian filmmaker Karen Shakhnazarov was presented with a presidential award for "preserving and developing spirituality in art" at the opening ceremony.
The program of the eight-day event consists of films representing 43 countries, including In the Fog, an adaptation of Belarusian renowned writer Vasil Bykaw`s novel.
The films will be screened in six theaters in Minsk.
