Representatives of foreign ministries of Belarus, Lithuania discuss Belarus-EU relations at consultations in Minsk
Representatives of the foreign ministries of Belarus and Lithuania held consultations in Minsk on Thursday to discuss the relationship between Belarus and the European Union in the context of Lithuania’s forthcoming EU presidency, reported the press office of the Belarusian foreign ministry.
The Belarusian delegation to the meeting was led by Deputy Minister Alena Kupchyna and the Lithuanian delegation was headed by Andrius Krivas, one of the four vice ministers.
The delegations had a “substantive” discussion of the current state and development prospects of the entire range of Belarusian-Lithuanian relations with the emphasis on trade and economic relations, the press office said.
The sides confirmed their interest in strengthening the “constructive nature and positive dynamics” of the Belarusian-Lithuanian political dialogue, and stepping up mutually beneficial cooperation in the trade, economic, transport and cultural spheres, the press office noted.
The delegations also discussed other issues of mutual concern and agreed to take specific steps to further develop Belarusian-Lithuanian relations in all areas under discussion, the press office said.
On the same day, Mr. Krivas had a meeting with Belarusian Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makey. //BelaPAN
