Belarus holding national exhibition in Astana
A national exhibition, Belarus EXPO 2013, is being held in Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan.
The June 5-8 exhibition features more than 250 leading Belarusian companies and organizations, reported the press office of the Belarusian foreign ministry.
A Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Rusy, who co-chairs the Belarusian-Kazakh Interstate Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation, participated in the opening ceremony, the press office said.
According to the press office, the delegation, which stayed in Astana between June 4 and June 6, included top-ranking representatives of the industry, agriculture and construction ministries, the Belarusian State Petrochemical Industry Concern (Belnaftakhim), the State Committee on Science and Technologies, and the Hrodna Regional Executive Committee.
While in Astana, Mr. Rusy also met with Vladimir Bozhko, Kazakhstan’s minister of emergency situations who also co-chairs the Belarusian-Kazakh Interstate Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation.
Talks were also held with Kazakh First Deputy Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev on the implementation of Belarusian-Kazakh agreements reached at the highest and high levels, measures to expand economic cooperation between the two countries and joint activities in the near future, the press office said. //BelaPAN
