Belarus has carefully fulfilled obligations to distribute import duties among Customs Union members, States Control Committee says
Belarus has carefully fulfilled its obligations to distribute import duties among the member states of the Customs Union, said the State Control Committee’s press office.
Belarus gets 4.7 percent of all import duties collected at the Customs Union’s borders, while the shares of Kazakhstan and Russia are 7.3 and 88 percent, respectively.
The State Control Committee has been tasked with supervising the collection and distribution of import duties in Belarus. In September, the agency, as well as Russia’s Audit Chamber and the Accounts Committee for Control over Execution of the Republican Budget of Kazakhstan examined the Belarusian finance ministry’s work to distribute import duties in 2012. The inspection found no irregularities, said the press office.
In 2012, Belarus’ budget received a total of 10,455 billion rubels in import duties. As much as 381.6 billion came from import duties collected by Belarus’ customs, while 716,819 billion and 9,356.7 trillion rubels came from Kazakhstan and Russia, respectively. The amount of import duties received by Belarus’ budget increased by 60.4 percent compared with the previous year. //BelaPAN
