Belarus, St. Petersburg should move to more advanced forms of economic cooperation, Prime Minister Myasnikovich says

Belarus and St. Petersburg should move to more advanced forms of economic cooperation and primarily increase cooperation in innovation, considering the huge industrial and intellectual potential of the Russian city, Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich said Wednesday during the opening ceremony for an international forum titled, Russian Industrialist 2013.

"Belarus is ready for this," Mr. Myasnikovich said, according to the press office of the Council of Ministers. "The world will considerably change in the next decade. There will be a need for new goods and technologies. So it is necessary to start talking about how much we are ready for such competition."

Belarus and Russia are successfully carrying out various joint projects in the fields of space exploration, bio- and nanotechnologies and other areas within the framework of the Union State, Mr. Myasnikovich said, noting that new promising programs of the fifth and sixth technological structures were coming up.

The Belarusian prime minister toured the exhibition of the forum, taking particular interest in Russia’s polymer technology, aerospace technology and machine-tool industry clusters, the press office said. //BelaPAN
