Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhnevich meets with visiting delegation of UN Counter-Terrorism Committee
Deputy Foreign Minister Alyaksandr Mikhnevich met with a delegation of the Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC) of the UN Security Council at the Belarusian foreign ministry in Minsk on October 16.
According to the ministry's press office, Mr. Mikhnevich noted that Belarus had acceded to all major UN conventions aimed at preventing terrorism and tried to combat terrorism both at the international and regional levels, including within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
Mr. Mikhnevich told the delegation about measures taken by the Belarusian government to fight terrorism, including about the terrorism prevention concept that the government adopted earlier this year, the press office said.
Led by CTC Executive Director Jean-Paul Laborde, the delegation included representatives of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Interpol, the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center, the OSCE Secretariat and the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism. //BelaPAN
