Lukashenka issues edicts aimed at modernization of worsted industry
Alyaksandr Lukashenka on November 14 issued two edicts aimed at the modernization of the domestic worsted cloth industry.
One of the edicts provides for the establishment of a new production facility at AAT Kamvol, a struggling state-owned worsted cloth manufacturer in Minsk.
According to the presidential press office, the new facility, which is expected to manufacture "competitive business- and economy-class fabrics," is to start operating at full capacity in 2017 and to increase the company's profitability of sales by 22.6 percent and per-employee earnings to €61,300 a year.
The implementation of the directive is expected to turn AAT Kamvol into an "export-oriented company” with technical production standards comparable to those of the world's leading companies of the kind, the press office said.
The other edict provides for carrying out an “investment project” at AAT Sukno in Minsk between 2013 and 2017 to ensure an annual output of 6,475,000 running meters of wool fabrics.
Under the edict, the company’s spinning facility located on Tsetkin Street is to be transferred to the grounds of its fine cloths factory on Matusevicha Street.
New equipment is to be purchased for the company's spinning, weaving and finishing units, and its compressor station, boiler house and pollution control facilities are to be modernized.
The implementation of the edict is expected to help increase the company's profitability of sales by 25.6 percent and annual per-employee earnings to €62,600 by 2018, the press office said. // BelaPAN
