Belarus' trade with EU reported down 25.5 percent in first nine months of 2013
Belarus' trade with the European Union decreased by 25.5 percent year-on-year in the first nine months of 2013 to total $15,991.4 million, compared with a 21.8-percent increase in the same period the previous year, reported the National Statistical Committee (Belstat).
According to Belstat, Belarus had an export surplus of $665.8 million, although exports decreased by 44 percent year-on-year to total $8,328.6 million, while imports increased by 18.3 percent to total $7,662.8 million.
Belarus' exports to Russia totaled $12,560 million, or 5.8 percent more than in January-September 2012, with imports totaling $17,085.3 million, down 20.4 percent.
In January-September 2013, Belarus' exports to Ukraine totaled $3,288 million, 24.1 percent less than in the same period last year; exports to the Netherlands totaled $3,120.4 million, down 53.2 percent; exports to France totaled $54.1 million, down 5.9 percent, exports to Poland totaled $586.2 million, down 21.9 percent; and exports to Lithuania totaled $803.9 million, down 15.1 percent.
Belarus' exports to Latvia dropped by 85.8 percent to total $435.5 million.
Exports to China totaled $390.5 million, or a 0.9-percent year-on-year increase; exports to Italy totaled $704.4 million, up 55.5 percent; exports to the United States totaled $63.4 million, up 19.8 percent; exports to Britain totaled $553.4 million, up 42.9 percent; and exports to Germany totaled $1,311.9 million, up 0.5 percent.
Imports from Ukraine totaled $1,553.7 million, down 7.5 percent; imports from the Netherlands totaled $322.8 million, up 2.1 percent; imports from Germany totaled $2,275.3 million, up 24 percent; imports from China totaled $2,122.7 million, up 37.3 percent; imports from Poland totaled $1,132.6 million, up 17 percent; imports from Italy totaled $784.9 million, up 18.7 percent; imports from Britain totaled $303.7 million, up 13.9 percent; imports from Lithuania totaled $318.3 million, up 24 percent; imports from Latvia totaled $107.8 million, up 1.3 percent; imports from the United States totaled $434.8 million, down 11.5 percent; and imports from France amounted to $334.9 million, up 18.5 percent. //BelaPAN
